Against deportations to Afghanistan

Networking Meeting on 15th of July in Berlin
in the frame of the action-conference of We`ll Come United from
11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Gemeindesaal Nostitzstrasse 6-7 10961 Berlin

Hello everyone,

At the end of 2016 the first collective deportation to Afghanistan was carried out. Since then, four others followed. The last two planned collective deportations to Afghanistan in May and June 2017 had to be suspended because of the non-functional capability of the German embassy after the attack of 31.5.2017 in Kabul. The Federal Foreign Office is to present a report on the current situation in Afghanistan in July 2017. Despite the devastating deterioration in the security situation, the Federal Government is sticking to deportation to Afghanistan. And also from many other EU countries deportations are carried out to areas of war.

We fight deportations to Afghanistan and have made our protest visible in various places during the last months: Afghanistan is not safe! Stop deportation! Every deportation is one too many!

We met in Berlin a month ago. Our overall goal is to make our struggles visible and stronger. The following conclusions were concretely our decisions:

– We want to be able to act spontaneously in case of a next deportation and / or when the new situation report on the security situation in Afghanistan comes out.

– At the beginning of September, we want to have day and night demonstrations / protest tent in front of city councils, ministries, embassies etc. We would do this as part of the action days of Gettogether / We’ll Come United!. We should discuss this in our groups and get back together at our next meeting.

– We will use the Hashtag #bleibistan – This hashtag means that we are against deportations to Afghanistan and for the right to stay.

We want to continue our work and meet again in Berlin on 15 July.

A proposal for the agenda could be:

– 11:00 – 13:00: Welcoming We’ll Come United!

– 13:00 – 13:30: Opening and welcoming to the meeting stop deportations to Afghanistan, status on the current political situation

– 13:30 – 14:30: Proposals for actions, how to stop deportations (for example, civil asylum “Bürgerasyl”), political connecting points. Public visibility: Ideas for video clips

– 14:30 – 15:30: Deportations to Afghanistan via Dublin and “voluntary return”. What do we do with it?

– 15:30 – 16:30: Decentralized action days from September 2nd: What forms of action can we imagine? How do we make ourselves visible?

– 16:30-17:00: Break

– 17:00 – 18:30: We’ll Come United! September 16: What are we going to do on September 16?

– 18:30 – 19:00: Communication structure: How do we communicate and stay in touch?

– from 19:00: Dinner and exchange

Ready or Not: Newsletter #1

Hello to all supporters,
“We are more than we guess …” we state in our call for the “We’ll come united” campaign. The transnational action days from September 2nd and the big parade before the general elections in Berlin on September 16th offer the anti-racist movement a great opportunity to find a common expression in its entire diversity. We will come together and get loud – for an open Europe, for freedom of movement and for equal rights. And above all, we aim that all those who have no voice and no political party behind them send a big and unmistakable signal into the election campaign. Now we are asking for your ideas and actions. We are just a few people and few networks, no big organizations, no big money. Our actions will become as great as you make them. Your own ideas and practices will bring them to life. Everyone is asked to become active and to put local struggles in our common context.Create, order and distribute material for mobilization, produce and spread own calls and own demands! Organize meetings, think of organizing a collective journey on September 16th in buses from cities, from camps, with refugees and with  communities to Berlin.

There is a lot to do. In this newsletter you will find some useful information for the mobilization.
